Equipment

The CVICU/CVHDU employs an extensive amount of equipment in the care of its patients and range from simple tympanic thermometers to highly complex ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) machines.

All nurses are fully trained to use most of the equipment.  'Most' as some equipment is so highly specialised, a special team of specially educated nurse is required to run it.

Either way for the ICU nurse who enjoys the technical aspects of nursing in ICU and indeed even HDU then these units have an excellent range of current equipment for you to use.

A dedicated CVICU/CVHDU Technician is required to facilitate the use, education and maintenance of this equipment.
