House Officer Teaching Programme
CETU coordinates the teaching programme for first year house officers at ADHB.  All first year house officers get two hours of 'protected time' each week for teaching, which occurs every Tuesday from 2pm - 4pm.  House Officers have an opportunity to have their say on the content of this teaching.

FRACP Teaching Programme
CETU coordinates teaching for the RACP written and clinical exam. This is a series of lectures (using the PEP Victorian Series) and interactive tutorials to aid the candidates learning before sitting the exam.  For more details on the programme, contact Lianne Maskell.
Clinical Skills Courses.
RMOs at ADHB have the opportunity to improve their clinical skills without the stress of an exam. Held four to five times a year, Clinical Skills sessions cover cardiology, neurology, respiratory medicine, dermatology and ophthalmology.
Procedural Skills Courses
To ensure that first year House Officers are well prepared, the House Officers starting in November are offered a Procedural Skills course soon after arrival. Nasal packing, suturing, catheterisation, lumbar punctures, intercostal drain insertion/removal and pelvic examinations are just a few of the procedures included in this programme.

Grand Rounds
Physicians' Grand Rounds (formerly Medical Grand Rounds) are usually clinically based, interactive and aimed at a wide audience.  Presentations can include local research / innovations, new basic science and theory with implications for the practicing physician.  The is a weekly session held on Thursdays from 12pm-1pm in the Clinical Education Centre, Level 5, Auckland City Hospital.

For more details or to be added to the mailing list to receive the weekly flyers, contact Lianne via email on Lianne Maskell or on 307 4949 ext 23209. To view a copy of this week's programme, click here.
