National
Women's inpatient, newborn and maternity outpatient services are located
on the 9th floor of the support building at Auckland City Hospital in
Grafton.
National Women's Walk-In Centre, community outpatient services, and
Gyneacology outpatient services continue to be provided on the Green
Lane site on the 6th floor of the Greenlane clinical centre.
National Women's provides comprehensive maternity care with antenatal
and postnatal facilities provided at the hospital, and in community
clinics. There are approximately 7,500 babies born at National Women's
each year. The newborn service cares for premature and sick babies. The
service receives 1,600 admissions a year, making it the largest newborn
unit in Australasia. It includes the neonatal intensive care unit ( NICU
), the parent infant nursery (PIN), the home care nursing service,
paediatric and developmental follow-up.
National Women's also provides comprehensive gynaecology, fertility, and
gynaecology oncology services.
National Women's has a commitment to providing personalised care to
women and incorporates this approach into the teaching and research
activities carried out within the hospital.
