The
Helipad Carpark opened in 2001. It is the only carpark building in
New Zealand with 2 helicopter pads on its roof. These landing pads are
linked to the adult and the children’s emergency departments by a
dedicated airbridge. The helipad carpark provides pay parking for the visiting public and it
also has space for staff to park. The carpark building can be accessed
from either Grafton road or Park rod entrances.
Starship children's health and the new Auckland City Hospital buildings
are easily accessed from the carpark building.
However for people who find walking difficult there is a hospital
hopper bus, which transports people around the key buildings on the
site.
