NEW GRADUATE NURSING PROGRAMME: NEW TO OPERATING ROOM TRAINING
The New Graduate Nursing Programme: New to Operating Room Training is a structured programme that offers professional and educational support to graduate nurses who are particularly interested in working in the Operating Room.
This programme differs from other graduate nurse programmes in that it builds onto a generic, 12 week, New to Operating Room Training Programme designed to facilitate the transition of practicing nurses who have decided to pursue clinical specialty in Operating Room nursing. New graduates would join other experienced nurses with no OR experience on the initial 12 weeks of the programme. During this period graduates also participate in the activities specific to the New Graduate Nursing Programme.
Clinical areas
New graduates are placed for clinical experience in one of five operating room departments.
