Purpose
The following types of filter are to be used for administering Blood and Blood Products in Newborn Services.
Process
Blood and blood products must be filtered through a blood filter giving set (In line filter set B860 with non-needle spike (180-200 micron size).)
NB:
All blood and blood products are leukodepleted.
Blood and blood products must not be infused through a Pall filter (0.22 micron).
