Steps Action

For Dräger/Airshields incubators

  • Attach oxygen tubing to incubator outlet and set flow of O2 (100%) to gain appropriate concentration in incubator.

  • Follow instructions on each incubator.

NB: Hudson CPAP should be commenced if baby requires more than 30% oxygen.

 When oxygen is administered directly through oxygen inlet of incubator the incubator humidity should be on at least 40%.

 An oxygen analyser is used continuously (placed near baby’s head) and calibrated each shift.
