• Current Committee Members include:

• The architect is John Zadro, from the MSJ Group (based in Sydney)

• There have been subgroups working in tandem with the Committee. These include groups which have looked at specific room designs and layouts, as well as the use of trolleys in the NICU.

• Staff have been involved in providing feedback from floor plans and, more recently, mock-ups.

• A meeting has been held with a group of interested parents to discuss specific needs of families whose infants have been through NICU, with suggestions on improvements in both the physical environment and the way that care is provided.  Further meetings will be held as the process moves on.

• Outside advice is sought, as necessary, from other services including:

  • CSSD

  • Infection Control

  • Information Services

  • Maori Health Advisors

  • Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering

  • Occupational Health

  • Pharmacy
