BLOOD GAS ANALYSER

Maintain high clinical standards for near patient testing in NICU.
• Represent NICU in external audit.
• Provide education of staff
• Provide on-going audit of practice.

Maintain excellent hand hygiene results in NICU through championship, support and education of all staff.

•Be the ‘go-to’ group for anything relating to infection control issues in NICU.
• Liaise with the NICU infection control advisor, seek advice and communicate to staff.

OPTHALMOLGY

 To maintain the NICU data base and to ensure correct babies are scheduled for weekly eye exams, Ensure that medications are charted weekly and placed in multidisciplinary notes. Also -
• Liaise with Ophthalmology team on a weekly basis re any changes /updates in clinical guidelines.
• To provide up to date statistics of eye exams and laser surgery on a yearly basis.

NURSE ROSTER GROUP

To provide staff nurses with a forum where there issues regarding rosters can be voiced and managed by peers.
Any changes to roster processes are managed through this group for discussion
Christmas Leave (mid-December to mid-February) is balloted by this group
Aim for 8 weekly meetings – this may vary depending on current issues
