Research at National Women's

Current Research Projects

  • gynaecology & other women's health research

National Women's is proud of its research achievements and uses the knowledge gained to improve the services and care provided to women and babies. All research at National Women's has been approved by an independent accredited ethics committee.

National Women's staff are also involved in the training of health professionals (such as doctors, midwives, social workers and nurses) as well as undertaking research projects.

Patients may be asked to take part in a research study. They can choose whether or not they wish to participate. Patient care (and where applicable, the care of a baby) will not be affected if they say no.

The Research Centre for Reproductive Medicine is located in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at National Women's.

The Cochrane Menstrual Disorders and Subfertility Review Group's administrative base is also located in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at National Women's
