Apply for ADHB Charitable Trust Fund to Support Research
 A+Charitable Trust Research Fund | Grants Committee Agenda and Meeting Dates
 
The Auckland DHB (ADHB) Research Grants Committee (RGC) is a sub-committee of the ADHB Charitable Trust.  Its purposes are:
  • To accept the financial management of funded research undertaken by ADHB employees and research undertaken within the ADHB
  • To be accountable to the Trust for the approval and distribution of Trust monies
  • To allocate available Trust monies to support research according to an established prioritisation processes.

 Full Terms of Reference

The RGC meets monthly (RGC Meeting Dates) after the ADHB Research Review Committee (RRC) meeting. All funded research must be approved by the RRC before it is accepted by the RGC. Based on the RRC review, the RGC accepts, defers or rejects funded research applications.
 
THE ADHB CHARITABLE TRUST
The ADHB Charitable Trust (A+ Trust) administers a fund created over the years by the generous contributions of individuals and organisations in the Auckland region. Its aim has been to make the best use of the fund to help meet the needs of patients and staff.
For applications to utilise funds that are not linked to research projects, follow the processes set out on the A+ Trust home page [A+ Trust]. All submissions to the A+ Trust must use the appropriate application form found on the home page.
APPLYING FOR ADHB CHARITABLE TRUST FUND TO SUPPORT RESEARCH
The ADHB Charitable Trust has delegated its authority to the RGC for approving applications for the use of Trust funds for research projects. Approval from the RGC is dependent on:

1) The approval of the research by the RRC
2) The Trust Deed allows for it use in this manner
3) Sufficient funds available in the account
4) Appropriate approval signatures obtained

Process
If you are undertaking research and wish to access funding to support your research from one of the ADHB Charitable Fund Accounts [A+ Trust Fund Purposes], a separate form is not required. When you complete your budget for the research enter the A+ Trust Fund Name and Number (obtain details from A+ Trust Fund Purposes and confirm availability of funds with the A+ Trust Accountant) in the revenue section and enter the required amount across the appropriate years required.
To utilise ADHB Funds the appropriate people must agree and approve for their use. Obtain these additional signatures using your completed Research Approval form.
For most of the Trust Fund accounts, signatures are required from the Finance Manager, the Clinical Director (or similar), Service Manager and General Manager.
Please check with the Trust Accountant if you are unsure whom to gain approval and sign off from or if additional people are required to approve the Fund you wish to access.
A+TRUST RESEARCH GRANT
A+ Trust Research Grants offer contestable research funding by the Auckland DHB Charitable Trust. The aim is to support ADHB researchers from all disciplines / specialties to undertake research across the health spectrum from patients to population, disease to prevention, and service delivery to cost effectiveness and beyond. Applications will be assessed based on scientific merit, feasibility including soundness of rationale and methodology, ability to deliver and opportunities to develop the capacity of new researchers / practitioners in clinical research. The evaluation will be made solely on what is presented in the application.
 
Fund types available
1) Project Grant (maximum of $30,000)
2) Small Project Grant (maximum of $10,000)
 

Deadline for receipt of applications at the Research Office is
4pm on Friday 30th September 2011
